Again we have another charcoal... after my last piece I felt confident enough to try another. XD It's Dwight Schultz as H.M. Murdock in the A-Team episode "A Recipe for Heavy Bread," playing with one of his liberated golf balls.

I'm not happy with it not looking much like Dwight at all, BUT, for a charcoal piece it's a good piece in its own way. (Especially since I've rarely attempted a real person with it, and I haven't practiced lately...) Thus it makes it into the gallery for the time being, and not scraps. :)

It's charcoal on cardstock; not drawn out with pencil beforehand, like I do the rest of my drawings--this was just freehanded.
I'll admit to doing a LITTLE Photoshop editing, shortening the length of the face ju~st a bit, and lightening the inside of his mouth just a bit.

VERY nice. I love your charcoal work. It's not too heavy, not too smudgy. Just right. I love the shading on the face! You have a nice subtlety in your shading. I wish I had that.....mine is like "BLAH IN YOUR FACE, DARKS ARE DARK, LIGHTS ARE LIGHT" No middle tones. I fail. :|

Thanks~ :D Even though it's not...perfect, or anything, I like how smoothly it came out overall.
It took me a while to figure out shading at ALL. XD Maybe study a lot of faces? Or...something. XD I don't know. xD I'm still trying to figure out how to do even more shading without it looking all...blah and muddysmudgey ew.
