Description

This is me in my Sherlock Holmes costume. Based off CANON Holmes, in case you can't tell. (But one could also say it looks like Jeremy Brett's Holmes, since his wardrobe was based off canon as well. :) )
It's rather rough...(I've no top hat, shirt-cuffs, or gloves, nor do I have a sovereign on my watch-chain, and my waistcoat is not even remotely close to what I need...) But I still do like it.

I got nearly everything I needed at Goodwill, save the watch, its chain, and the briar pipe (that still tasted like tobacco), which were all my dad's.

The coat was easier than I thought it would be. I found a very long coat that seemed it would be right (it was quite simple to find one of the right length that was not too thick since I am unfortunately quite short and stopped growing years ago) and had it altered by a seamstress so it would fit like a frock-coat should (I wish she had altered the sleeves a bit more, though).

The trousers are grey wool, and since they're lined they're actually quite comfortable and fit like a charm. The boots are leather men's dress boots and they lace-up in the front.

The waistcoat is horrible, but I have yet to find a good one. The shirt is too small (hence why you barely see it) but it was the only white dress-shirt I had in my possession. I could NOT find the right material for a tie, so in reality it's a black ribbon, starched and ironed and tied in a way dictated by a diagram I found. I think though the most important thing missing at present is a top hat...

As for my hair, I had someone else assist me in pulling it up extremely tight and out of the way while still styling it and using profound amounts of hairspray instead of oil/pomade, and if you ignored the slight ponytail in the back it looked surprisingly great. My glasses were distracting, but since I cannot wear contacts I couldn't help but have to wear them. Or get hit by a car. I wasn't keen on the latter idea.

I also wore this to take my very young nephew out for his second Halloween (he was a bit over a year old) and he was Watson. It was adorable...he ran around with his bucket of candy, wiping off his drawn-on moustache, brandishing his toy revolver......XD

I have more pics, but this one is a good display of my costume and it doesn't show my face. ;)

Tell me what you think.

NO BUT IT IS GOOD. *flaps arms* I was wondering earlier if anyone did normal Holmes cosplays, and lo and behold, I stumble over here (I... actually recognize you by your fanfiction username...) and find this. :la:
