Description
This really came out poorly. I had good plans for it, but two things contributed largely to its complete failure: my lack of skill with coloured pencils, and the fact that *bcbdrums wanted a less chibi "chibi" (a full face on it, etc.). So it turned into a hideous cartoon thing that's horribly coloured. And, I hate perspective, so that didn't help.
I wasted my money when I brought those Prismacolors...
This is *bcbdrums's prize for winning third place in the contest at #Dwight-Schultz-Group. I'm going to use markers when I do the next prize... I can use markers better...mostly... I just need more colours. XDD
This does, by the way, have SOME marker in it...
I'm sorry that it didn't turn out well, bcb. I tried.
The idea of this one is that Neelix (the cat) is poor Reg's only real friend... Poor guy.
I know it doesn't really look like him. But this sort of thing is not my style.
I'm really unhappy with this: I see all the errors, etc., so I need absolutely zero criticism. The only thing here that I actually have to learn how to do is use those stupid useless 48-count (why just forty-eight...why....) Prismacolors. Honestly, I'm disinclined to ever use those useless things again. They're just glorified crayons. They won't stay sharp at all, and I can't figure out how to make them look smooth.

Looks very good to me. I think, like any good artist, you're self-critical because you're always striving for perfection. I just hope you won't let it stress you out to the point that you quit, because your work is very good. Barclay is one of my favorite characters--probably because he's someone we mere mortals can identify with. At least the episode "Pathfinder" ended on a positive note for Reg, since he'd been introduced to Hope and things seemed promising.
Keep up the good work. The colors are this very nice on this one.
