I wondered if I could still pull something off with charcoals and gave it a shot... I decided to draw Franky because for one, he's so very easy to draw, and also, my watchers who like OP rarely get anything, and this would be good for them.
Charcoals, of course. Instead of cardstock I went ahead and used printer paper in case something went wrong; I think charcoals work just fine on printer paper, unlike my pens, which prefer the cardstock.
I used all three kinds--medium, soft, and extra soft, and used some white charcoal on the nose. Tried to use the white on the chain, but it didn't really show.
I LOVE my new scanner.
With it, you can actually SEE the different values and details of the charcoal, unlike most...anything else I've scanned in the past.
